NEW YORK—Dolly Parton is an eyeful.

The blond state superstar tiptoes into a Manhattan hotel room with a grin and eager “well, hi there!” accompanied by a two-handed handshake. She’s poured into husk-tight black pants that would fit an 8-year-old and a knit black-and-pallid check jacket that shows off that famously gravity-defying bust, which looks huge next to her impossibly tiny waist.

“I love your hay-r!” she exclaims, reaching up (Parton comes to my chin, even in gigantic spike-heeled boots) to pat my curls with wee hands clad in fingerless leather gloves, the crap-shooter to show off three-inch, deep pink false nails. “You look like a dahl!”

For those who don’t talk “Dolly,” the country music superstar who is busily promoting her new one's own flesh comedy Joyful Noise prior to its Jan. 13 opening, has complimented my hairstyle in the tardy drawl that announces her Tennessee roots.

That’s the crux of Parton’s desirability: she’s a country gal, one of 12 kids born into poverty in a farmer’s blood and she exploits the fact endlessly, despite being an extremely successful businessperson. She has a notion park ( Dollywood ), has won every music prize imaginable, tours extensively and has netted a slew of awards — including eight Grammys. Her two Oscar nominations were for her profuse songwriting.

Avail rank gloves that do no more than what is needed. Eiderdown your hands. I use these in the Winter and it does keep my hands worm while allowing my fingers to be helpful on things like an iPhone, or tactile projects such as handling screws,etc....
