“I have yet to find anybody that can give me a inductive reason to have lighters that look like toys,” said Capt. Kent Stouder of the Elkhart Fire Worry.

Capt. Stouder in truth began to fight for a novelty lighter ban in Indiana back in 2004, when he was the President of the Indiana Fire Inspectors Union.

His passion for the matter goes back about eight years when he came across an Elkhart lineage fire that was started by a child playing with a novelty lighter.
