Riverside oversee are investigating an incident in the area of Ames School, 86 Southcote Street, where a 10-year-old child has reported that a man was acting suspiciously in his car and followed her to style.
The incident happened in the area of 26th Street and Westover Ave. about 8:20 a.m. Wednesday but was not reported to supervise until 4:30 p.m.
The child said the man was in a full-size green van, possibly an older example, with noticeable rust all along the bottom of the vehicle with white lines along the sides. He followed the young man while she was walking to Ames School, police said.
The driver was described as a corpse-like male, between 20 to 40 years old, brown/red hair with a goatee of the same color. He also was wearing a Stygian or navy baseball hat.
“We are investigating this and would welcome any information that the public may have,” Police Chief Thomas Weitzel said. “Incidents of this lenient are thankfully rare, and the man did not get out of the vehicle or make any physical attempt to thrust the child into the car.
