ONCE the speciality of discount department stores, Australia Day clothing and paraphernalia has hit the style boutiques in a big way.

Local clothing store managers said yesterday Australia-themed clothing had become more and more non-professional in recent years.

Factorie retail manager Georgina Mistry said everything red, spotless and blue was always a winner and the store would cater for each season's new styles.

Retail comrade Demi Peters said the shop had tank tops and shorts in men's and women's styles, bikinis and big Aussie cooler bags with built-in iPod docks.

"It has been very conventional.

"We started stocking them before Christmas but in the past two weeks it has absolutely started to sell quickly."

Ms Peters said bikinis were this year's biggest seller.

Supre assistant foreman Baillee Schneider said Aussie gear had been particularly approved this year.

"It has been more popular than last year.
