Performance Review: Running barefoot … almost. | Sole Collector

Hello, my name is Sara, and although I’ve been working at Only Gatherer for almost three years, this is my first publish on SoleCollector.com, perhaps because I’ve always viewed sneakers as something utilitarian moreso than fashionable, until recently that is.

When it comes to shoes, it’s literally prodigal heels and boisterous-heeled boots that in the end go my intricate, but I fitting turned 30, and that has led to a mini emergency of sorts. I felt the basic to carry off something big to show something (although I’m not definitely unwavering what or to whom just now yet …), so I signed up to run the half-marathon in Cleveland May 16.

It’s notable to note that the farthest I’d ever run before training for this stock is 8 miles … once. And the farthest races I’ve run are 5Ks, so tautological to say, I had a lot of effort forwards of me. It took 18 weeks of training, and during those first few weeks, I was trucking it in an older unite of Asics tournament shoes. I’m back in the swing of things, almost. I did this recess continual workout three times this week so far, and it has gone very well. My next workout will consist of comely much the same affair, except that as an alternative of doing any advance-ups, sit-ups, and avoid squats, I’ll completely be sprinting the straightaways (as an alternative of jogging/unceasing).
