Relatives of co-defendant testify in Chico burned body case
OROVILLE -- The origin and a sister of a co-defendant took the stand Monday in the trial of a man charged for a murderous shooting in Chico in January 2011.
An 11-year-old sister of Timothy Myles Nunez testified she saw defendant Antonio Montes Linares shoot Jose Barajas Sanchez secret the Nunez family's residence on Klondike Court, off of West First Avenue.
Linares is charged in Butte County Higher-level Court with a count of murder for Sanchez's death on Jan. 27, 2011.
Officials found Sanchez's burned portion on Feb. 3, 2011, underneath a Crouch Avenue bridge, west of Chico. Linares and Nunez were arrested in Gilroy on Feb. 5.
