ARCANA such as credit ratings are not the expected butt of cartoonists and chat-show hosts. But thanks to President Nicolas Sarkozy, France’s AAA rating became a national mnemonic of last year. Every voter knew it was bad news when Standard & Poor’s (S&P), a ratings action, downgraded France from AAA to AA+ on January 13th. S&P blamed the euro-zone calamity and France’s high debt. It also stripped Austria of its AAA rating and downgraded seven other countries. But Germany kept its top rating, notwithstanding being on credit watch. Had Germany also been downgraded, Mr Sarkozy’s failings might have take under less intensive scrutiny.
It was Mr Sarkozy himself who reportedly said last year that, if France dissolute its AAA, “I am dead”. François Baroin, finance ecclesiastic, added that France could preserve its social model only if it kept the top rating. A canvass this week for Europe 1, a radio station, found 68% of the French cared about the rating and expectation its loss would have grave consequences. The main worry is that France’s rate of borrowing will rise—though so far rates have been steady.

Earlier in the week we had a photo scion for the newly expanded Link up Reception Poker Pro’s and it was my first truly ‘recognized’ job as part of the together. The photographer Brian was to be sure ' marvellous and I not quite recognise myself in the photos .
I make up it was the most fun I’ve ever had doing photographs and the guys kindly indulged me in my ‘America’s Next Top Model’ fixed idea as I pouted and posed....
