Perhaps golfers have gone online to see what all the kick up a fuss is about and perused Ballybunion's expansive website ( www.ballybuniongolfclub.ie ), conjuring up thoughts of teeing it up on the windswept blind at the southern juncture of the Atlantic and the Shannon River in County Kerry, on the Emerald Isle's southwestern strand.

Last summer, during a glorious stretch of warm, relatively calm days, I was clever to cross a round at Ballybunion's Old Course off of my bucket list. I can corroborate that the experience was all it's cracked up to be - and more. I have played more than 600 golf courses in the olden times five years - and likely more than a thousand since my golf infatuation began in 1986 - and the round at Ballybunion was my all-stretch favorite.

Let me explain why.

Reason No. 1: The course is set on the perfect land for links golf. First opened in 1893 and refined by eccentric golf advance architect Tom Simpson in 1936, the Old Course at Ballybunion stretches from the eponymous municipality road right to the edge of the Irish coast, all while twisting through a whip-round of soaring grass-covered hills. The layout ducks in and out of dunes with expert regularity to spread the seaside experience throughout the round.

Unfortunately all sympathetic things must on to an end, but at least we are active out with a bang! Loveland will climax for the 2009 - 2010 pep up this Sunday, May 2nd but not before we get another influence day! Since last Thursday we have received over 2 feet of snow with another 8 inches of untested snow this morning, Thursday the 29th! That's more 3 feet in a week and the augury is work for it to keep on falling! We're not foolproof how much we may get, but one affair for definite is that closing weekend conditions are prevalent to be astonishing! Don't damsel it!
