Dear Gary:

I was wandering around my "backyard" and noticed three opposite dug-up yellow jacket nests! Man! A lot of things that annoyed people used to existent in those holes!

Never seen that before and was wondering who would be brave enough to dig up yellow jacket nests?

I didn't see any larva so I don't be familiar with what the purpose of the digging was all about. The only thing I know about yellow jackets is the results of on-going over their nests with a power mower, or accidentally stepping on active nests. I didn't learn much about yellow jackets from that, except getting stung and bitten as I ran away. (That's a reading in itself!)

Any insight as to who's digging up nests and for what?
